I was inspired during the pandemic to put my energy into something I believed in, which then led to so many amazing opportunities and a community I've never had before. Since I am bi-racial, I am able to express myself with contrasting staple foods I grew up with, such as mac and cheese or nachos, as well as lumpia, adobo, and mango sticky rice. There are also fusions of the two such as our teriyaki mac or hot cocoa.

Little Ogre

Little Ogre

Sunday, April 27: The Block Distilling Co. Takeover from 1-8pm (2990 Larimer St, Denver, CO 80205)

Born in 2025 out of a life lived across 2 worlds, Little Ogre is an invitation from my family to yours! My family immigrated from Thailand in the early 90's to create a better life for my sisters and I. They worked day and night, adapting to a new place where everything from the language to customs were completely foreign to them. Despite this they always put us first, encouraged us to learn, adapt, grow. After a couple of years they were able to bring my yai and thaa ( grandma and grandpa) over to complete our little family. My yai was a powerhouse, coming in at barely 5 ft she loved us fiercely, making sure we never felt any absence of warmth and support as our parents worked tirelessly. As the years passed, and our family grew, she continued to instill the importance of resilience, not taking life too seriously and laughter, lots of it.

Little Ogre is named after her, the little yaksha that threaded our family together.

It is my hope these cocktails, beers and even sodas help people feel the love and curiosity that my yai and krop khreua (family) have fostered for me my all my life. These flavors formed the fabric of my family, icy salak milk in the dead of summer to the spicy, zesty papaya salad we shared on Sunday afternoons. If you ever wanted to sing your heart out with an uncle, snack with sisters or party with your Thai cousin, pull up a chair.
